COVID-19 (coronavirus) Update

The health and safety of our students and staff is always a top concern.
As state and local health officials address the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), the Building Corporation of Theta Chi Gamma Phi at Nebraska Wesleyan University is monitoring the situation, discussing guidelines and implementing recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department.
Dear Alumni, Actives & Pledges,
As our country continues to deal with Covid-19, I wanted to share with you the decisions made by the Building Corporation this past weekend in response to the pandemic.
First and foremost, I want to commend Chapter President Hunter Smith, the Chapter Advisor Dustin Bartley and the Chapter House Mother Katie Kodad and the students for putting health and safety at the forefront. I assure you the Building Corporation did not take the decision lightly to close the chapter house to the students. As of April 1st all students are required to move out of the chapter house. House mother Katie Kodad will remain on the property to oversee the safety of the facility.
As this crisis continues to unfold, we all ask ourselves, what’s next? We don’t know those answers and we may not know them for a while. What we do know is that we are planning for the worst and moving ahead as if the Fall semester is right around the corner and the 45 members will be moving back into the house. Summer reunion planned for June at Round the Bend Steakhouse may be pushed back. Homecoming is still on as is the 2021 reunion in Monterey, California.
All of us on the Building Corporation care deeply about Theta Chi. We come from varied backgrounds in the public and private sectors – health care, education, government, business, and retirees just to name a few. We empathize with the uncertainties and challenges everyone is facing because we are facing them too.
Please continue to extend a helping hand to others.
