Homecoming 2012

NWU Homecoming
October 20th 2012

The alumni were invited back to the chapter house for a homecoming brunch before the big tailgate and football game on Saturday October 20th, 2012.
Several alumni and their families showed up to meet with old friend and take a walk down memory lane. The actives took the alumni on a tour of the house to show us what they have been up to. Let me tell you they have been busy, along with the re-vamped parents club they have not only put a fresh coat of paint on the walls but also have done major remodeling to some rooms.
Although no tours of the NEW roof were done, we have been told that there is no water leaking into the house. Check out a few of the pictures from the event below. For some of us that have been out of school for awhile, they now have a golf cart parade that goes around the perimeter of campus prior to the tailgate.
As you can see in the last picture Theta Chi was represented by 'Mario Kart' Mario, Luigi & Wario, watch out for flying bananas!
Initiation was held that night for the pledges (now actives) with the alumni in attendance. And for those who have not been to an initiation ceremony in the last year, there are some updates that you will want to experience again. So stay in touch and make it a priority to come to the next one.

Funeral service were held at 10:30 am, Tuesday July 10th at the First United Methodist Church of Big Springs, with Pastor Steve Gragg officiating. Interment followed at the Big Springs Cemetery. On June 6, 1965, Frank was wounded in a tragic bank robbery that killed three people. Although confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life, Frank returned to the bank after his recovery and served as president until 2004, when the Kjeldgaard family sold the bank. Throughout his life Frank provided service and support to the Big Springs Methodist Church, the Nebraska Bankers Association, the town of Big Springs, the school board, American Legion Post 275, Nebraska Wesleyan, scholarship funds and endowments and other charitable commitments. He cherished friendships throughout the region and the state, with people in many walks of life. The Kjeldgaard family expresses gratitude to Sally Corfield, Winston Corfield, Dr. Harold Keenan and others whose care did so much to ease his daily life. And thanks to Tripp for being a wonderful companion. Frank is survived by three siblings, Joanne Eoff of Goleta, CA, Dee Dougherty of Tyler, TX, and Wayne Kjeldgaard of Big Springs. He is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews, and numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews residing across the U.S.

Theta Chi Gamma Phi 1st Posting

Welcome to the Theta Chi Gamma Phi Blog. We will be using this blog as a way to keep you up to date of on goings with the fraternity, alumni and actives. The website we use to have seemed to be too much upkeep so we will try a blog for a while. We will add pages and links for the Capital Campaign and upcoming events such as Founder's/Alumni Day, Homecoming, Fall clean-up and more to come.
