Tom Kuhn '64 Memorial Shuffleboard Tournament

Do you believe in miracles?
Because that's what the Theta Chi active's shuffleboard team looked like they needed to defeat the mighty Jerry & Sid machine at the 2017 Tom Kuhn Memorial Shuffleboard Tournament in Kansas City. Team Dan & Joe had never played shuffleboard before the tournament, but the roster was filled with amateurs and collegiate athletes. In contrast, the battle-tested Senior squad boasted of some of the best Shuffleboard talent in the world. The Senior team has dominated for years, and even the most hopeful fans wondered if the Actives could even score in the game, let alone win.
Instead, Team Dan & Joe pulled off an amazing upset, winning the game 10-8 and earning themselves a place in history. The game inspired what is now one of the most recognizable broadcast calls in history, as Bill Lundy Sr. screamed that he did, in fact, believe in miracles. By the way Bill did offer Dan & Joe $50 a piece if they beat the defending champs. So Bill was very pleased when he and Don did not have to meet Jerry & Sid in the finals.
